Let’s practice the left-hand bit first.

The C is played with your third finger (hence the 3 underneath it) and the E with your thumb (1) and they are both then kept held down (which is what the curved line, called a slur, above the E means) until they are repeated. This is the same throughout the piece—the left hand keeps its notes held down, unlike the right hand, which keeps moving.
